AI is no longer a futuristic concept as this evolutionary technology is transforming how businesses operate, how engineers and doctors make crucial decisions and engage with their projects and patients in operating theatres, respectively. His warning that AI could be used in ways it should not be is only proving true, as with the advent of artificial intelligence, we are witnessing a series of cyberattacks and hyper-realistic identity manipulations to fool search engines that are currently going on in full swing. This has become so easy for manipulators and unethical users to use AI that it is actually scary. On one side, AI governance continues to emerge as one of the most important priorities for business leaders. But on the other side, there is an urgent need to address concerns related to biased use against human interest, transparency in use, data privacy, and accountability.

Soumitra Dutta (former) Oxford Dean, must be happy to find out that as businesses are adapting to the use of AI, they are becoming more and more responsible about it. Indirectly, they are taking AI governance seriously, something that even powerful political parties across the world must also consider. If leadership at the corporate level can give importance to AI governance, so can everyone else. After all, every time we witness an evolution in technology, it is interpreted as a tool brought into actuality to serve human interest, not deter it.
